Paid to click, paid to read and autosurf still represent the most advertised systems to earn small amounts of money with internet, but will you really earn money by using them?
First and foremost, for those who don’t know it, the paid to are websites that allow users to earn small sums of money on the internet, without too much effort, by doing little actions online. Among these, the first systems to be born were the pay to read, paid to surf and paid to click.
The paid to click programs (PTC) promise the users to earn simply by clicking ad links. Per each click, the user will earn an average of 0.10 to 1 dollar cent. Analogous proceeding applies to paid to read (PTR), but in this case the links to click are only sent by e-mail.
With the paid to surf, which can be divided into manual surf, autosurf or paying bars, the user will be paid by letting the browser or a small “bar” browse by itself different webpages that have paid to be advertised. A certain amount of auto-browsing will make a certain amount of money.
I started following these systems some years ago, when I was still a kid and they were convenient. And with Earnwithinternet I reviewed the best programs while signalling fraudolent ones. Now, it has already been some years since I stopped following these systems to earn money with internet, and now I will cancel all the sections of the website dedicated to these programs.
But why these paid to are no longer a good system to earn money?
In reality, these programs didn’t make anyone rich in the past neither, but in their beginning users still had the possibility to earn some money.
Now the situation has much worsened, for the paid to have great difficulties in finding good sponsors, and even more important, their system is their own cause of death.
In fact, the paid to pay for each action we perform and also for any person we introduce (called referral), paying us a percentage of the profits these persons make. And this money won’t be paid by our referral, but from the paid to program itself. Several websites also pay the 100% of the referral’s gains and also for more levels at the same time, thus creating authentic pyramidal schemes.

All this is done to advertise the paid to and at the same time motivate people to register.
Therefore, some time after their foundation, these paid to find themselves unable to pay their large number of users who, for having a lot of referrals, earn a lot of money.
And by not paying its users, the website shuts down.

And by not paying its users, the website shuts down.
And this happens with no legal consequences, as there are no laws to protect users, there are no signed contracts and the owners, most of the time teenagers who found a good way to earn money quickly, live in the other side of the world.
And, as nowadays a lot more people than in the past register to these paid to, their counts go in red long before they used to do.
If, once, a good paid to could last one or two years, nowadays it shuts down after 3 months. And this 3 months rule specially applies to paid to click, read and autosurf.
Of course, if you manage to earn something during these 3 months you can hope of getting paid, but is it worth the effort to start anew every time with a new website and a new illusion, of keeping yourself constantly updated with the life and death of these paid to? According to me, no.

I must report that there are people “passionate” for paid to and who enjoy using them, and I respect their passion, but if I have to judge the validity of this system by a business point of view... well, in the end, I believe you’ll just waste electricity.
Among the paid to programs, those that suffer this process the most are the paid to click, which are born and die as flies.
Although paid to read are also born and die all the time, at least there is a small group that resists among them.
Among the autosurf, only one still pays, and it is called EcashTraffic, but keeping a computer on for the whole day for just a couple of cents doesn’t seem to me like a good deal.
Concerning the paying bars, fewer shut down because fewer are born. A common practice for paying bars is to lower the gains considerably to survive.
This said, not all paid to and micro-gain systems are bad.
There are other honest methods that allow to earn and are: paid surveys, the paid to write, the microstock (selling photos) and then more complex and convenient systems such as affiliations and e-commerce.
